Flight Training Centre (FTC) was founded in April 2008 as a business name and was incorporated as a limited company on 6 June, 2010. Through the issue of an Approved Training Organization Certificate by KCAA, the school is able to provide flight training in all areas as stipulated under the ATO. Such services include ground flight training, instrument rating, multi engine training, type rating and foreign license conversion among other forms of training as needs arise.
The centre boasts of a fleet of 15 aircraft that serve the purpose of students. The school is engineered by the following:
Captain Godwin Wachira who is a trained instructor on multi engine and instrument rating, he has a long experience in aviation. He boasts over 13000 hours, with a good number of them acquired as an instructor. He is a holder of the ATPL.
Catherine Wambui has many years of management experience. She holds a degree in Theology from Africa International University. She is the accountable manager at the school.
Captain Jonathan Musau holds a Commercial Pilots License (CPL) from the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA). He has an instructors’ rating to instruct on Private Pilots License (PPL), Commercial Pilots License (CPL), instrument rating, and multi engine rating, and is also an examiner on type ratings. He is the Chief Flight Instructor at the institution.
Captain Leah Kihara has a vast flying experience on long haul flights and holds a Commercial Pilots License. She is in charge of Flight Training Programmes.
Captain Peter Gichuhi is a holder of Airline Pilots License and is a qualified instructor in Private Pilots License, Commercial Pilots License, and multi engine and instrument ratings. Captain Gichuhi is in charge of the multi engine training programme.
